Featured Artist: Jeanne Ruzzin Detroit Realist Painter

Jeanne Ruzzin is an emerging realist painter based in Detroit. After years as an advertising creative director, she took up painting in 2013 after the death of her beloved grandmother.

Since then, she has had a two-person exhibit at the historic Scarab Club of Detroit, as well as being juried into other prestigious shows including the Body Eclectic, The Birmingham Our Town show, and the Scarab Club Gold Show three times. Jeanne is interested in painting the female experience along with the beauty of everyday people and life.

I've had a pleasure to meet Jeanne in the spring of 2016 at a work function. We spent hours talking about our three favorite subjects: Paris, literature and art. And ever since then, I have been a true 'fan-girl' of Jeanne's work (if my likes on Jeanne's Instagram Page are any indication). I truly admire her strength, her wisdom, her charisma, and most of all her talent and honesty.
